Author's Note: This story has been inspired by Joel Morgan, author of "Worlds Apart". As his story was a cross-over between Final Fantasy VII and StarFox, my story shall be a cross-over between Final Fantasy VIII and StarFox. I hope everyone enjoys it.
Everything returned to normal.
Well, sort of...
Irvine and Selphie fell in love, as predicted from the start.
Quistis regained her license as a teacher at Balamb Garden, and finally, Seifer was able to become a SeeD thanks to her.
Raijin and Fujin still hang around with Seifer, but with Seifer now a SeeD, they showed more respect. Of course, they kept the same job -- they all stayed as the Disciplinary Committee.
Cid and Edea rebuilt the orphanage from long ago, and take care of... how do we say... the little Irvines, Selphies, Squalls, and Rinoas.
Yes, that's right. Squall stayed as the leader of Balamb Garden, but Rinoa took the top ranking through lots of work. And on the day of her highest title, both them along with Irvine and Selphie got married.
Laguna and Ellone stayed in Esthar, protected by Dr. Odine and the others, in case of any problems, although all Sorceress powers had been extinct now.
But, that leaves us to one person.
Zell, being the "mechanic" type, constructed a vehicle able to travel systems in minutes. Though it took many years, he finally traveled to the other world combined in the compression.
The Lylat System.
Slippy continued to work on his mechanics, constructing the exact same traveling device as Zell. As soon as they made contact once again, both laughed uncontrollably. Mechanics, eh?
Peppy retired from the StarFox Team, who's place was taken by Bill Grey.
Falco's temper grew, but as well as his love for Katt. How do a cat and bird fall in love? That's lylation for ya.
Fox continued to lead the StarFox Team, as Fara took care of their little furry.
But on the same day that Squall and Rinoa got married, as well as Irvine and Selphie... Falco and Katt got married. Four couples. But something was missing. Something very sad.
Four weddings and a funeral.
The following week, Peppy Hare died of old age. Although considered young to some, and to himself, his body aged quicker than normal. All of those involved in this mission to save the universe were there. And since a Phoenix Down cannot save those who died because of natural causes, Peppy Hare was placed in a capsule, shipped into a black holes, so no one could disturb his awaited, eternal rest.
But there was one thing left. Fox McCloud had received the delivered Phoenix Down of his own. He used his Arwing to fly to his father's grave. Setting the Phoenix Down on the ground, it shook for a moment. Fox stepped back, until suddenly, a glove jumped out of the ground. Very carefully, out climbed a fox similar to the young McCloud. Standing up, Fox screamed for joy. His father, James McCloud, was once again alive.
Everything was peaceful.
Are you still curious about Rinoa's third wish?
A human and a furry fell in love. But, that's another story...
